In the first chapter of Palmer's Dauɡhter For Dessert, we are introduced to Richard, the proud owner of the nearly bankrupt Dɑddy's Cafe, whose only regulars are the fat detective Mortelli, addicted to local coffee, and the two lovely waitresses - Richard's offspring Amanda and her friend Kathy. The story begins on one absolutely normal day when Richard accidentally unlocks Kathy's phone and discovers her secret hobby - writing erotic literature... and not JUST erotic literature, if you know what I mean.
